POH (player owned houses)

Hello, sorry it has been awhile since my last post, but I have been quite busy with lots of homework and so on and so forth.
Anyway this post is about POH, where you get one and about a guide of helping you get to lvl 30 in the awesome skill construction.
anyway, here are the basics:
please note, this post is merely a suggestion. you can start building whenever you want

BUYING YOUR FIRST HOUSE
To get started on building your house, you will need a house. For this you will need to visit the Estate agent. The most convenient one is the one in varrock. So visit this location, along with 1k and you may buy your dream Home.

This is the estate agent.
(North is up, just so there isn't any confusion)

This is rimmington. It is west of port Sarim.
to get there go to draynor village and go west until you reach the crafters guild, then go slightly south east.

your portal is This kind of purple with a black outline...Its impossible to miss.

So, enter your home. It doesn't look like much ATM, but wait until you have built it till you say that.

So, you've bought your house, seen it, but how do you build it? Read on for more!

COLLECTING THE RESOURCES
Righto, the first thing you'll need to start building is around 50k, an WC axe, a pickaxe and some patience.

The first thing you should do is collect planks. go to the Varrock EAST bank and store all your weapons and armor. Then withdraw your WC axe and your 50k.

leave varrock by the east gate and start chopping down normal trees making your way gradually forwards to the sawmill. by the time you get there, you should have 27 logs in your inventory and 50k. talk to the sawmill operator and "buy all" normal planks.
do this until you have around 100 planks in your inventory.
Now that you are done buying planks, go back to the dude and buy around 50 cloth and a saw.
congratz, now that you have done this, you may move onto the step.

Go to falador and enter the dwarven mines by the southeast entrance.
you will appear near some stairs. go south for about 20 steps and youll be at the coal rocks.
mine around 16 coal and go north a bit for the iron ore...mine 8 iron ore and then return to the east bank to bank it. you now have enough for 8 steel bars. mine enough for 24 steel bars and return it all to the surface.
now, you will need to go back down and mine around 100 clay and soften it up.

now that you have all the resources from the mining area, you can make your steel bars.

if you do not have a high enough level then you will need a friend to make them for you.
after you have made the bars, smith 6 bars into steel nails. you now have the mined part of your building resources.
Congratulations on making it this far. you should now have 100 planks, 50 cloth, 100 soft clay, 16 steel bars and 90 steel nails. you can now move onto building your house

BUILDING YOUR HOUSE

now that you have your supplies, you should go to your house and start building...bring some planks, cloth and clay aswell as your hammer saw and nails and start bulding...heres a list of the things you could build to start off:...

well, now that your lvl 10, so many oppurtinities open up... you build everything currently possible, or you can remove and rebuild furntiture for xp....

The best thing is, your house can be built however you want... here are soem people's house designs:
  • getting to 27 construction, building a stairway going down then building nearly all of there house underground.
  • house surrounding the garden/entrance portal so that the house is 3x3 rooms.
  • house with a couple of gardens, wich are then neatly tended.
  • getting 27 construction and building a staircase up, then building all the good rooms upstairs.
  • having your main house seperated from your servants quarters by your garden.
  • building a fully equiped kitchen, then training your cooking by baking cakes
construction is a totally flexible skill, so you can build what you want, where you want it, when you want it.

good methods of training constructon

now that you have a decent house, with all the hot spots filled in, how do you train??
well, im glad you asked, 'cos there are some really easy and quick ways to train it...

THE LIMESTONE METHOD (requires lvl 33 cons.)
  1. First, mine around 300 limestone from the mine northeast of varrock and craft it into bricks
  2. go to your house with a full load of limestone bricks and your hammer and saw.
  3. go into your parlour and demolish your fireplace.
  4. build a limestone one.
  5. repeat steps 3-4 until all limestone is gone.
  6. go and get more limestone.
  7. reapeat steps 3-6 until your bored/tired/done
THE CLAY METHOD (requires a house in rimmington, a pond, a pickaxe, aswell as buckets)
  1. equip your pickaxe, and go to the mine east of rimmington.
  2. mine 20 soft clay.
  3. go to the well in rimmington and fill your buckets.
  4. soften all your clay.
  5. go into your house and demolish your pond.
  6. rebuild it.
  7. repeat steps 1-6 until your bored/tired/done
Those are just two of the methods people use, and gain xp succsessfully.

Righto, you have a house and some ways to gain xp... your good. i wish you all the best in your building.have fun!

p.s: feel free to ask me for help or to come and look at your house.
p.p.s: post what you think about this guide on my forums pleeeeease?
