Mcdudeanator welcomes you to his Blog

Any posts will come after this one as it will always remain at the top. Thank you for your time and cooperation

Greetings people, and welcome to my RuneScape blog.*
For those who don't know, Runescape is an online multiplayer or MMORPG (massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, lol what a mouthful) and is about you, the main character (for you, your the main character), to live like you would do in medieval times-if there were dragons and goblins and evil chickens!-working for a
living as a smith or baker or just slaying monsters for gold. anyway we all know that now, now back to me!

*(Continued) I've been playing RS for over a month now and feel i should write down my adventures as "Mcdudeanator" as he and I have grown so close...even though I can only get as close as the screen....

we have been through wonderful times slaying chickens and being slain by evil chickens, that we wish to share it with you...(But I really hate that evil chicken!)
so read on and join us as we write down adventures and guides concerning our tales and travels.

peace out pplz!

Woodcutting: an easier way!

(Fine print: Members only =( ...everythign allways is isnt it...)

Hey ppl!
ever tried woodcutting and failed miserably?
ever wanted to get to level 60, like everyone else??
or ever just wanted to rise in rank, and be the best of the rest???

then this is for you!

now, i recently reached lvl 60 woodcutting, by cutting 2 types of trees:
Teak trees and,
Mahogany trees
whats that i hear you ask? "Are'nt those the hardwood trees on karamja?" Well, yes and no!
whats that? "cut the crap"... Ohh...

well anyway, the fact is, that at level 35 WCing, you can chop teak trees, and it just so happens, that there is a teak tree OUTSIDE of the hardwood mangrove on karamja.

infact, all you need is a deuling ring and your a few steps away from a treasure trove of exp.
  • unequip your deuling ring
  • teleport to Castle Wars
  • now, follow the map below, and your there

At 85 xp a log, youll be leveling up in no time.
with this method i went from lvl 50 Wcing to lvl 55 Wcing in less than an hour.
Hope this helps you as much as it helped me!

P.s: for maximum use of this method, either drop your logs or teleport to CWs and deposit them there for later selling.
P.P.s:As ther eis only one tree, you might have to contend with others for it.
P.P.Ps:for even better exp, cut mahogany trees on karamja. to save trading sticks, just drop your logs, or sell them to other players for 600 each

POH (player owned houses)

Hello, sorry it has been awhile since my last post, but I have been quite busy with lots of homework and so on and so forth.
Anyway this post is about POH, where you get one and about a guide of helping you get to lvl 30 in the awesome skill construction.
anyway, here are the basics:
please note, this post is merely a suggestion. you can start building whenever you want

BUYING YOUR FIRST HOUSE
To get started on building your house, you will need a house. For this you will need to visit the Estate agent. The most convenient one is the one in varrock. So visit this location, along with 1k and you may buy your dream Home.

This is the estate agent.
(North is up, just so there isn't any confusion)

This is rimmington. It is west of port Sarim.
to get there go to draynor village and go west until you reach the crafters guild, then go slightly south east.

your portal is This kind of purple with a black outline...Its impossible to miss.

So, enter your home. It doesn't look like much ATM, but wait until you have built it till you say that.

So, you've bought your house, seen it, but how do you build it? Read on for more!

COLLECTING THE RESOURCES
Righto, the first thing you'll need to start building is around 50k, an WC axe, a pickaxe and some patience.

The first thing you should do is collect planks. go to the Varrock EAST bank and store all your weapons and armor. Then withdraw your WC axe and your 50k.

leave varrock by the east gate and start chopping down normal trees making your way gradually forwards to the sawmill. by the time you get there, you should have 27 logs in your inventory and 50k. talk to the sawmill operator and "buy all" normal planks.
do this until you have around 100 planks in your inventory.
Now that you are done buying planks, go back to the dude and buy around 50 cloth and a saw.
congratz, now that you have done this, you may move onto the step.

Go to falador and enter the dwarven mines by the southeast entrance.
you will appear near some stairs. go south for about 20 steps and youll be at the coal rocks.
mine around 16 coal and go north a bit for the iron ore...mine 8 iron ore and then return to the east bank to bank it. you now have enough for 8 steel bars. mine enough for 24 steel bars and return it all to the surface.
now, you will need to go back down and mine around 100 clay and soften it up.

now that you have all the resources from the mining area, you can make your steel bars.

if you do not have a high enough level then you will need a friend to make them for you.
after you have made the bars, smith 6 bars into steel nails. you now have the mined part of your building resources.
Congratulations on making it this far. you should now have 100 planks, 50 cloth, 100 soft clay, 16 steel bars and 90 steel nails. you can now move onto building your house

BUILDING YOUR HOUSE

now that you have your supplies, you should go to your house and start building...bring some planks, cloth and clay aswell as your hammer saw and nails and start bulding...heres a list of the things you could build to start off:...

well, now that your lvl 10, so many oppurtinities open up... you build everything currently possible, or you can remove and rebuild furntiture for xp....

The best thing is, your house can be built however you want... here are soem people's house designs:
  • getting to 27 construction, building a stairway going down then building nearly all of there house underground.
  • house surrounding the garden/entrance portal so that the house is 3x3 rooms.
  • house with a couple of gardens, wich are then neatly tended.
  • getting 27 construction and building a staircase up, then building all the good rooms upstairs.
  • having your main house seperated from your servants quarters by your garden.
  • building a fully equiped kitchen, then training your cooking by baking cakes
construction is a totally flexible skill, so you can build what you want, where you want it, when you want it.

good methods of training constructon

now that you have a decent house, with all the hot spots filled in, how do you train??
well, im glad you asked, 'cos there are some really easy and quick ways to train it...

THE LIMESTONE METHOD (requires lvl 33 cons.)
  1. First, mine around 300 limestone from the mine northeast of varrock and craft it into bricks
  2. go to your house with a full load of limestone bricks and your hammer and saw.
  3. go into your parlour and demolish your fireplace.
  4. build a limestone one.
  5. repeat steps 3-4 until all limestone is gone.
  6. go and get more limestone.
  7. reapeat steps 3-6 until your bored/tired/done
THE CLAY METHOD (requires a house in rimmington, a pond, a pickaxe, aswell as buckets)
  1. equip your pickaxe, and go to the mine east of rimmington.
  2. mine 20 soft clay.
  3. go to the well in rimmington and fill your buckets.
  4. soften all your clay.
  5. go into your house and demolish your pond.
  6. rebuild it.
  7. repeat steps 1-6 until your bored/tired/done
Those are just two of the methods people use, and gain xp succsessfully.

Righto, you have a house and some ways to gain xp... your good. i wish you all the best in your building.have fun!

p.s: feel free to ask me for help or to come and look at your house.
p.p.s: post what you think about this guide on my forums pleeeeease?

Easter Updates

Hey People,
Seen as the new Holiday update came out, i thought id make a guide on how to obtain the items you need for it.

Mcdudeanator's Easter Update Guide!
Righto, first of all, heres some info on the holiday updates.

Jagex made holiday Drops and events as something special for the players.
In the past there were Tradeable Holiday drops, but due to the fact that those items are now Rare, they are worth alot of money.
So Jagex decided to stop making holiday drops and tradeable holiday items, so that they could no longer be sold for massive amounts of money.
So now, they make Updates where you obtain a Holiday-related item, and can have fun with it for a while.

Now, This Year they added A ton of "Easter rabbits" who dig up from their underground warren and bury easter eggs for you to dig up. Once you Have entered the warren and done a special task for The Easter Bunny himself, you get a special ring wich morphs you into an Easter Egg.

now, we get to the Guide:

  1. Righto, first of all, you will need a shovel. You can find one in falador in the building south of the furnace. For Members, you can buy one at any farming store.
  2. Now you will need to Find the bunnies. They are SW of falador, so head south through the gate then when you get to a turn, go west. there should be children everywhere and holes and mounds all over the place.
  3. Look for a mound.
  4. Dig with the shovel while standing over the mound.
  5. You should now have obtained an Easter egg.
  6. There are 7 different kinds of eggs, and each has a different flavour.
  7. Dig up 10 easter eggs.
  8. Now dig up an 11th egg, but make sure it is A Blue Egg with Golden Stripes
  9. Once you have 11 eggs, stand on tope of a hole, and eat the blue egg with golden stripes.
  10. You will transform into a Rabbit and Fall through the hole into the Rabbit Warren.
  11. Make your way to the middle of the warren.
  12. Once you are there, "Take Egg pile" and get a "magic Rabbit egg".
  13. Now that you have it proceed to a long Slide for the eggs, and enter the chute at the top.
  14. You will now have to look for the easter bunny. (not hard, hes the old fat Pink geezer)
  15. Talk to him about "What is going on" and say you will help him.
  16. Now, head back down the chute and look for an exit. (It will be a ray of light)
  17. Talk to the children and give them 10 eggs.
  18. Now, if you didnt take a Magic rabbit eg, you will have to dig another one up.
  19. Enter the warren and make your way to the Easter bunny again and say you delivered the eggs.
  20. He will give you a "magic Easter Ring", wich when you wear it will transform you into an egg.
-------------------------------------------------------

Now, you can wear the ring and be an egg.
I hope this helped You, happy egging!

Cool egg tricks:
Prayer:
Turn on a Protection prayer then turn into an egg! you will look really funny as your egg protects itself from magic/arrows/attacks.

Sychronised eggs:
You can gather a few buddies and All get your easter ring.
Determine what you want to do As eggs*, then all try and all be the same sort of egg, or make patterns or something.
*block of doorways, suround statues, make long lines, be creative!

Egg puppet dancing:
Before you enter egg form, grab last christmas's puppet out of your bank.
Go somewhere to perform your no-strings-puppet show.
To do this trick, click on the easter ring then the puppet really quickly.(really quickly, seriously, like 0.5-1 second)

Hope the tricks are funny, feel free to try them out!

Non-members fashion guide

Mcdudeanator's Guide to non-member fashion

1. Matching clothes:
now, on the F2P worlds, there is a limited amount of clothes, however, using what is given so that it matches is crutial.

Wearing for exaple, a green cape and red gloves with steel and mith armor, will make you look quite silly, as there is 4 different colours matched together.
to make this look more decent, up/downgrade your armor so it is all of the same metal and get the same coloured cloak as your gloves and if possible, your hair.

2. Defence is unimportant
Now, as defence is actually quite important, it might be unwise to fight with your best clothes on, so always bring your main battle armor for safety.

To look good, you may have to sacrifice some stats, like your defence and your strength.
if you want to wear mith and blue, go ahead, put on your mith and blue cloak, gloves and maybe even a blue necklace (or magic amulet).
however, you might notice that your str/def/att may drop because of the magic amulet, so if your expecting a fight always bring your main battle armor and some food with you.
(you wouldnt want to lose all that mith and blue stuff for nothing)

3. The importance of gold
now, gold looks good with nearly every armor
except:
Bronze
Iron
Steel
Dragon hide

So, gold looks good with Black, Mithril, Adamant, and Rune, so if you have a yellow cape and some yellow gloves, put them on!
You will instantly see a change and it doesnt look bad at all.

Gold can mix with:
Blonde hair
amulets

4. Hats and helmets

Not wearing a helmet at times can look really cool (except if your hair style is ****)

Taking off your helmet in towns or when not in battle looks cool, but again, subtracts from your defense. if you consider taking a helmet with you at all times for safety, you will not look that stupid...

Hats can also look cool, if worn correctly and if they are the right hats.
Wizard hats can look cool on a warrior if they match his/her, cape/gloves/hair.
As long as it matches the extras, it will look cool.

5. The summary

As long as it all matches, it will look cool. But just cos your cool, doesnt mean safety doesnt matter. always bring your main armor and soem food if your expecting some danger.

(anyone that was looking forward to this should thank MISSINGO)
